The fox and the ratter

Today we got word that construction is gonna start on the kitchen in about 8 days.
I however, am not gonna get excited because, as regular readers may have already noticed, not a damn thing happened the last time someone told us "within a week".
Whatever, it has to happen some time, right?

Anyway, tattoos!

Here's what Eckel did on Zule today.
Oh, and Lucifer is back home after an extended weekend in the country with his human grandparents, and he was so excited to be back that he snuck into the forbidden zone, and managed to get in the picture too.

A fox and a Prague Ratter (who appears to be very interested in whatever Eckel is telling him)
Here's a majestic piece of embroidery that Allan bought for my office while i was sick
And, uhm, i actually bought this guy for the apartment (don't judge me) but i haven't figured out a safe way to bring him home on my bike yet
My parents brought us apples and pears
And Allans client Morten brought cake!

Allan posted the tattoos he did in London, so go check those out!
And also, go check out some pictures a friend took at the shop not too long ago.
Her blog is awesome, by the way, so stay and check out her work while you're there.

Details of attempted to murder on Aslan Usoyan

As many already know, on the 16th of September 2010 the vor v zakone Aslan Usoyan, also known as Ded Hasan, who after Vyacheslav Ivankov’s death is considered to be the leader of the Russian criminal world, was attempted to murder.

Interview of the head of State Department of the Internal Affairs of Moscow

Ded Hasan arrived to visit his son and he was wounded heavily at the porch entrance, his body-guard was also wounded. The bullet hit Hasan’s stomach. The surveillance cameras recorded the attempt against the Ded Hasan.

Firing was made from the opposite house. It is seen on the video as mountain climbers get into the flat from where the firing was made. The cameras have also recorded the killer in addition to the attempt to murder.

Video of Ded Hasan killer taken by surveillance cameras

It is notable that the fire was made from Kalashnikov of the Chinese production.

Kalashnikov with silencer

It is seen on the photos that the weapon is with silencer, however the sniper went even further. He fired with rare cartridges RS (reduced launching speed from the barrel). These cartridges were found in the sniper’s flat.

Special cartridges

These cartridges are out of production for a long time already and it is possible to get these cartridges only on the military supply spots. These cartridges differ from ordinary ones with subsonic flying speed and thus they don’t produce the blast during shot. And when firing is made from the weapon with silencer the volume of the shot sound is similar to the one from bow. The video shows visually the difference between ordinary cartridges and special ones. RS bullet flies about 3 times slower than the ordinary one.

Comparison video of ordinary cartridges and special RS cartridges as well as 3D version of attempt to murder against Aslan Usoyan.

And here is brief interview of the neighbor of Aslan Khasanov’s son. He is a foreign businessman who came for some days to Russia and lived in rented flat near to Usoyan’s son.

Interviews of neighbor of son of Ded Hasan

This foreign businessman on video said that he did not see anything, see only a lot of blood in the entryway.

For the moment Asan Usoyan is discharged from hospital. There are many versions for the reasons of the attempt, they say that he was shot because of Cherkizovskiy market. However, only the customers know about the real reasons.

Back at work, and happy about it too

Oh hi, how are y'all doing?
Us? Well, we're back from London and we couldn't be happier.
The convention was a bit weird this year, and none of us had a truly great time, but i plan to rant about that on my personal blog tomorrow, so i'll spare you for now.
But Allan is gonna post the three tattoos* he did while there very soon.

In the meantime, i had a rare opportunity to get a sneaky shot of a tattoo he hasn't gotten any decent pictures of yet.
See, Nicolai came in to get some robot-spacechick-madness done by Nick last night, and while he was just sitting there, i got a few classy iPhone pictures of his penguin!

Penguin awesomeness, real pictures will pop up on the blog of Uncle eventually

More news, dates, updates, and that sort of stuff coming soon.
Right now i think i'm gonna try to convince Allan to watch some more Bored to Death with me!

*Poor guy had a terrible cold and couldn't work at all Friday.

Tattooing by Jay Crockett

Here's a few new pics from Jay Crockett, enjoy! Make an appointment with him and get a NICE tattoo!!!

The month after my daughter was born, I started re-painting old Tattoo Flash, as have many Tattooers before me. I chose some of my favorite designs and some of the most inspirational old-timers that paved the way for kids like me. I tried to do a sheet for each decade from 1900 on. I did a lot of different styles of tattooers, but all of it flash that was on a wall at some point. This stuff should all be in museums by now, and I wanted that feel of the old sheets on the wall. Not a laser copy, or some bullshit digital file that you will find here, something tangible. It was very challenging, and I have learnt a lot along the way. I have finished 11 sheets in all, and I think I'll just keep doing this every once in a while. It's fun, and a great way to keep myself challenged.

Top to bottom:
Feature wall,
Owen Jensen compilation sheet 1,
Owen Jensen replica sheet 2,
Sailor Jerry Collins compilation sheet 1,
Sailor Jerry replica sheet 2.

Watercolor on paper, all roughly 11 X 14.
Lined with India Ink and calligraphy pen, painted with various inks and watercolors.
All painted by Jeremy Riley, Tattoo Union, 2010.

Sake maki

It's always difficult for me to get Allan (or any of the other guys for that matter) to give me pictures for this blog.
Understandably, they'd rather post them on their own blogs, and i can't exactly blame them, but in order for this blog to have the occasional tattoo photo, so it's not all about me whining about broken kitchens, i have to demand tattoo pictures.
As i did with this one when i said, "i'm taking the sushi and that's it!"
Or something along those lines...

Anyway, here's Kim's flying maki

And here are all those battles i did not win.
Until next time, Allan...
